Green Chile Cheese Squares

Simple to Make and Loaded With Flavor

At the 2011 Hopkins County Dairy Foods Show, Frannie Miller brought her Green Chile Cheese Squares, to town, to compete in the adult appetizer section of the show. Her entry proved to be a blue ribbon winner, capturing the "taste buds" of the judges with loads of flavor, and Frannie says they are so easy to make, and can be done when you are in a hurry. "My family loves them and they're loaded with nutritious dairy products, as well," adds Frannie. "They're a great way to serve the family when you're looking for something simple, with a lot of flavor!"

Frannie's recipe is as follows:

 

 

Green Chile Cheese Squares

Frannie Miller

 

1 pound Monterey Jack cheese, grated

1 pound Cheddar cheese, grated

2 eggs

1/2 cup flour

1 can (12 oz.) Evaporated milk

2 green chiles, chopped

Beat eggs, flour and evaporated milk together.
Add green chiles and stir. Add cheeses.

Pour mixture into a 13 X 9 inch baking dish, that

has been lightly greased with cooking spray.

Bake at 300 degrees F, for 45 minutes.
Cool and cut into 2 inch squares.

Serve and enjoy!
