4-H Field Trip and Sewing Fun Day
The start of the school spring semester signals the start of the 4-H sewing project. This has been a popular project in Hopkins County and continues to grow. A day of touring, sewing, and communitiy service is guaranteed to provide fun and new skills, while providing a valuable service to our community. Here are the details:
We will have several make-and-take projects available with all materials provided. Several sewing machines will also be available, but youth may bring their own if they wish. As a community service project, we will be making stuffed animals and pillows to give to the fire and police departments, and the hospital. In addition, any 4-H member who would like to participate in the county 4-H Fashion Show construction division may bring their fabric and pattern, and I'll help them get started. Parents are welcome to join us. (Actually, I'll need assistance in transporting the kids for the field trip.)
The event is free, but interested youth should RSVP by calling 903-885-3443 so adequate preparations can be made.

Closing Thought
Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.
