Last Call for Sewing Class
Do you want to learn to sew? Or, perhaps you took a class in high school and need a refresher course. Whatever your situation, I have the perfect solution! After receiving a few inquiries, I have scheduled a basic sewing class for anyone who is interested. The best part is that it's just in time for Christmas! The workshop will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, November 27-29, starting at 9:00 a.m. and ending at approximately noon, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office, 1200-B W. Houston Street. The workshop will be designed to fit the needs of the participants, but will also cover the basics. If you can't come all three days, just come when you can, but please contact my office so adequate preparations can be made.

During the workshop, participants will learn basic sewing techiniques and even have the opportunity to complete some make-and-take projects. I will also teach participants how to make a quillow - a quilt that folds into itself to make a pillow. If you want to make one, there are a few supplies you'll need to bring: 2-1/2 yards of your main fabric, and 2 yards of a coordinating fabric, plus batting and matching thread. These make great Christmas gifts! Other make-and-take projects include fingertip hot pads, decorative pillow cases, and others. Cost is $5 to help with expenses.
Sewing machines will be provided unless you want to bring your own. If you have a special project, bring it and I will assist you. Please contact our office at 903-885-3443 if you plan to attend.
