Historic Home on Connally Street
Destroyed by Flames, Saturday Morning

An unoccupied home in the 500 block of Connally Street, was destroyed by fire, on Saturday morning. The historic J.M. Wester Home, located at 519 Connally Street, between the Sulphur Springs ISD Administration Building and the downtown, was totally destroyed.

 

 

 

 

 

 



The home owned by Jeff Redding of Sulphur Springs was under construction, and workers were at the scene, at approximately 9:30 a.m., when the alarm was sounded.

Connally Street was block as Sulphur Springs Firefighters fought the blaze, and had many in Sulphur Springs being forced to take alternate routes to arrive at the polling place for City, Hospital and School Board elections.
