Sellers to Conduct Semi-Annual
History Walk, Saturday, October 13th

Local historian, John Sellers, is ready for his Fourth Semi-Annual History by Foot, Saturday, October 13th,, with two planned tours at 9.00 and 10.45 am. Cost for the tours is $10.00 per person and is sponsored by the Downtown Business Alliance.


The tour will begin by the flagpole in the middle of the square. The square , its history ,events, and buildings will be discussed.

Then the tour will continue down Gilmer Street and turn right on Tomlinson, walk the alley and discuss its history and sights.


Participants will then walk to the spring lot and discuss the beginnings of our town. Sellers will continue to point out several historic sites and walk up to Main, and walk back towards the square discussing the sites and history of our Main St.

The tour will end back at the square.

 

 

Seller says this tour is great for first timers and repeaters.

Tickets on sale at Alliance Bank, CNB, and Hop Co gen Society Library at 212 Main St.

"We want everyone to come out and join us and learn about the history of Sulphur Springs," states Sellers. "I think it will intrigue the seasoned historian, as well as cultivate an interest in those who are just beginning to learn the history of this area!"
