Homecoming Pep Rally
Boosts Spirit For Friday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
With Sulphur Springs schools dismissed for Fall Festival Day, on Friday, the annual Homecoming Pep Rally was conducted in Wildcat Gym, on Thursday afternoon, and boosted spirit for the upcoming game on Friday night. The eleven young ladies chosen for the 2007 Homecoming court were introduced, as they were escorted by young men they had chosen for the occasion. Wally the Wildcat even wore "his" own homecoming banner and conducted a number of "stunts" to boost spirit among the student body.

Cheerleaders, the Wildcat Band, and the Blue Blazes Drill Team were all featured in spirit boosting segments of the pep rally, as they led the student body in chants, dances, and cheers. Again, Wally the Wildcat received roars of laughter as he "attacked the Yellow Jacket" on a tricycle course. Naturally, Wally won without any problem and the yellow jacket was left behind.

Classes competed with each other during chants to see which class could offer the most spirit. The Wildcat Band, with the aid of a spectacular drum corps, certainly made the most noise during the pep rally. The eleven members of the Homecoming Court, were then featured in a dance routine, that brought cheers from the crowd.

Wildcat football players, Brittan Diamond and Dakota Graham addressed the crowd and assured them that the team would be giving all their efforts in making a Homecoming victory, on Friday night.

Homecoming Week at Sulphur Springs High School has featured a number of activities for the student body, and will culminate with Pre-Game activities, on Friday night, when the new Homecoming Queen will be crowned, following an election by the SSHS student body.

Congratulations SSHS
on a Great Homecoming Week!!!
