Wednesday Head-On Wreck
Kills Three Near Brookston

A seven-year old Honey Grove boy was among three fatalities in a Wednesday afternoon head-on traffic accident,  on U.S. Highway 82, near Brookston, in Lamar County.

The two-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. Dead at the scene were 7 year old, Micah Aldridge and 41 year old Kenneth Aldridge, both of Honey Grove, in one vehicle, an F-250 pickup, and a third man, 34 year old John Minnick, listing a Bonham address, in the other vehicle. Minnick was in a 1999 Chevy truck traveling westbound, while the Aldridges were in a eastbound direction.

The accident occurred on U.S. Highway 82, near the intersection of Lamar County Road #34050.

Four other victims were injured in the accident and flown to Metro-plex hospitals, including Karen Aldridge, 38; Michael Brown, 14; and two other boys age 11 and 12. Their conditions were unknown on Thursday morning.
