"Hoops For Dominic" Raises
Approximately $3000.00 For Sick Child

From Yantis

"A need to help a family in our community that has been devastated when their two-year old son has been diagnosed with cancer, has arisen, and it was only natural that this community of caring people would respond," expressed Yantis High School Principal, Michael Alphin. "We started thinking of ways to help this family with their mounting medical expenses and travel for treatments, and came up with the idea for 'Hoops for Dominic,' that transpired Tuesday night."

"We called our friendly rivals, the Miller Grove Hornets, who like us are a small community and know of the needs that arise in a community this size. They were in to do all they could do to help, too!" continued Alphin. "So the idea developed and soon t-shirt orders were being placed and money was being accumulated to help this family!"

Alphin reported on Wednesday night that approximately $3000.00 has been raised, thus far, and contributions and donations are continuing to be received. "I think everyone sees the need and it pulls at all of our heart strings to see Dominic and his family go through this terrible ordeal," expressed Alphin. "Nothing is more heartbreaking than to see a small child sick!"

Meanwhile, others in the Yantis Community are seeking of ways to help Dominic and his family, as they embrace the ordeal and make plans for the future, that are very uncertain.

Continue to keep abreast of the plans that will aid this family and help them in Dominic's fight against cancer!

If you are unable to attend any of the events and would like to contribute to help this family, an account has been set-up at City National Bank, Yantis Branch, for Dominic's Medical Fund.
