Texas Ranger Sgt. Wendy Wakeman

 

Hopkins County Native to Be Part
of Rick Perry Security Detail

Relatives in Hopkins County were pleased to be notified that Texas Ranger Sgt. Wendy Wakeman, has been selected as one of four Texas Rangers to be part of the Gov. Rick Perry Security Detail, for his upcoming U.S. Presidential Campaign. Wendy, the daughter of Richard Wakeman and the late Linda Anderson Wakeman, was reared in the Union Community, south of Sulphur Springs, and is a 1994 Graduate of Sulphur Springs High School.

A Lady Wildcat Cross Country and Track Runner, Wendy attended Texas A&M University-Commerce, before being accepted into the State Troopers Academy in 1998. She has been a State Trooper in Conroe, Texas since 2008.

As part of Perry's Security Detail, Wendy will travel for approximately 60 days, across the nation, as Texas Governor Rick Perry campaigns for the Republican Presidential Nomination, beginning in January 2012.

She is also the sister of Hansen Wakeman, who is employed at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
