Fire Destroys County Home,
Wednesday Morning

Units from Hopkins County, Tira, Peerless, and North Hopkins Fire Departments responded to a house fire at 472 CR-4778, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, firemen found the structure entirely engulfed in flames, according to a Hopkins County Fire Department spokesman. "When we arrived the last wall of the house was the only thing standing and we just worked to keep the fire from spreading to an adjacent propane tank and other areas of the property," he said.

On Wednesday morning, the owner of the home had not been located and it was undetermined if the house was occupied by anyone. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
