Sulphur Bluff Bears Win
Junior High County Tournament Championship

It was some great basketball action, over the weekend, as Saltillo hosted the County Junior High Basketball Tournament. The Championship Game featured a match-up between the Saltillo Lions and the Sulphur Bluff Bears, Saturday afternoon, that crowned the Sulphur Bluff Bears the 2013 Champions, after an overtime, 43-39 win. The hard-fought battle found the teams tied at 37-37, when regulation play ended.

"This is the way that a championship tournament should be, with both teams playing so hard that they are tied and it goes into overtime," expressed one of the fans. "Both teams played good basketball and promises plenty of county basketball action, as they move on into high school and compete!"

Teams in the tournament included: North Hopkins, Yantis, Cumby, Miller Grove, Sulphur Bluff, and Saltillo.

Sulphur Bluff was the Champion, Saltillo 2nd, Miller Grove 3rd, and Yantis won Consolation.
