It was a "red-letter" day for Chase Koon, a member of the Sulphur Springs FFA Chapter and a third generation dairy farmer from the Hopkins County Bonanza Community, when he exhibited the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion animals in the 2012 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Dairy Show. Koon also exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion in the Junior Dairy Show at this year's Houston event.

Koon Jersey Farm was named the Premier Breeder and Exhibitor at the show, as well, marking an outstanding showing at this year's show.

A complete listing of winnings at the 2012 Houston Livestock Open Jersey Show, Chase's 7 Jerseys placed:
1st & 2nd in the 2 yr old class, 1st in the 3yr old class, 1st & 2nd in the 4 yr old class and 1st & 2nd in the 5 yr old class. His 4yr old, Koon's Rocket Girl, was named Grand Champion, and his 5yr old, Koon's Militia Bea, was named Reserve Champion of the show.
