Saltillo Lady Lions Receive
Awards at State Tournament

The Saltillo Lady Lions were "crowned" the State Runner-Up Champions, on Saturday night, at halftime of the next game, in Frank Erwin Center, in Austin. Additionally, Senior Lady Lion, Victoria Stretcher, was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament. Victoria won the award that has only been given to a member of the Runner-Up Team, twice in the 30 year history of the award, speaking volumes of the tenacity and the heart that the Lady Lions played with, in their State Championship bid.

 

 

 

Congratulations Lady Lions and it certainly was a pleasure of accompanying you to Austin and the State Tournament. All of you are fine young ladies and joy to cover and promote, as you go about doing what you love....play basketball!

Best of luck to the entire Saltillo Lady Lions Team and it will be fine with me if we go back next year!!!
