In Yantis

For the sleepy little farming community of Yantis, located on the Hopkins-Wood County line, "Volleyball Mania," has taken-over. That is, now that their Lady Owls are riding high on an unbroken winning streak and are rated number 7 in the state!

The Lady Owls continued that unbroken winning streak, on Tuesday night, when they hosted the North Hopkins Lady Panthers, in a 6:30 p.m., match-up, in Lady Owl Gym. The Lady Owls defeated the Lady Panthers in three sets, 25-23, 25-9, and 25-11, to win sixteen matches in a row!

The Lady Owls "struggled" during the first set, Tuesday night, and "came-from-behind" to defeat the Lady Panthers in the first game. However, once they got their rhythm going, the second and third games reflected the play that fans have become accustomed to, this season.

Last Friday night, at Miller Grove, the Lady Owls, lost the first game of the set, but came back and defeated the Lady Hornets in three consecutive wins, of 25-22, 25-16, and 25-22. They lost the first match 9-25.

Playing on the Lady Owl Team is Christina Tauzen, Isy Reyna, Amanda McKinney, Jamie Gilliland, Traci Glenn, and Holly Madden.
