Cumby Lady Trojans Headed to State
Powerlifting For Second Straight Year

On Friday March 1st The Cumby Lady Trojan won their 2nd straight THSWPA Region III Division III Championship at Wills Point High School.

 

The Lady Trojans had qualified 7 girls for the regional meet Taylor Gifford, Gabriella Aguilar, Kayla Akers, Bailey Braddock, Brianna Stone, Taylor Petty and Breanna Gay. Five lifters medaled (1st-5th) and five qualified for the State Meet.

 

Taylor Gifford placed 1st in the 123’s

Brianna Stone placed 1st in the 181’s

Kayla Akers placed 2nd in the 165’s

Bailey Braddock placed 4th in the 181’s

Breanna Gay placed 4th in the 220+

 

 

 

Kayla Akers was awarded the Best Squat and Best Overall Lifter plaques.

 

Taylor Gifford, Gabriella Aguilar, Kayla Akers, Brianna Stone, and Breanna Gay all qualified for the THSWPA State Meet held in Corpus Christi on March 16th.
