Last Farmer's Market For Season
Planned for October 20th
From Shane Sheppard

We had a successful market this year and will be hosting an open celebration this Saturday. Vendors are encouraged to participate – there will be a lot of activity going on.
This weekend, the market will feature three bands. The local blues band, Upstroke, will be on stage around 4pm followed by a 7pm performance by Beyond the Pale, a Celtic Band. At 9:30pm, Los Zarcos Del Norte will perform until around midnight.

The Market will open at 2pm with a variety of produce, local art, and prepared foods. Karaoke will kick off the market until 3:15pm when America’s Farmland Trust will formally present an to award the community for being America’s Favorite Mid-size Farmer’s Market. Judge Brown will present a proclamation by Governor Rick Perry. Tote bags will be given away for free in celebration.

Later in the evening, Mr. Pumpkin will arrive with goodies for children of all ages and wholesome family fun. He will announce the winners of the pumpkin-decorating contest. The square will be filled with mega-bubbles and children can enjoy a bounce house from 6pm until 10pm. In the background, the large movie screen will be setup to watch this past year’s market for a few hours while Mr. Corn visits guests who have come out. Around 6pm, UpStage DanceWorks will display local dance talent.

It will be a great time. We have a deep appreciation for the community support of the market and special thanks for the vendors who participated throughout the season. Come out this Saturday, starting at 2pm, to show you appreciation and enjoy the fun.
