Saturday's final Farmer's Market for the 2012 season featured Hopkins County receiving the award as the Best Farmer's Market in the Nation, that had been announced earlier. Jon Scholl, a representative of Farmland Trust, sponsor of the award, was on hand Saturday afternoon to make the presentation. Scholl, who is from Cooksville, Illinois, was impressed with the beautiful downtown Sulphur Springs area and complemented the Hopkins County Farmer's Market on being named the Best in the Nation. "You've certainly got many reasons to celebrate in Sulphur Springs, and we're pleased to be a part of recognizing the outstanding efforts that have been made here in Sulphur Springs," expressed Scholl as he made the presentation.

A record number of vendors were on-hand to sell their wares and began Saturday's event at 2:00 p.m. Live music lasted until after midnight, on Saturday night, making a fitting closure to the events, until next spring.
