Leadership Sulphur Springs
Learns About SSISD, Tuesday

The day began for members of the Leadership Sulphur Springs Class "going to class" at the new Sulphur Springs Middle School, where they met Superintendent Michael Lamb and began a day of learning about the Sulphur Springs Independent School System. Lamb gave them an overview of the system and then began taking them on a tour of the newest addition to the local system, as he gave them an opportunity to "break-up" and join classrooms in progress, where they interacted with students and teachers.

The class then boarded a SSISD school bus and headed to Douglas Intermediate School, where they enjoyed lunch at the school and learned about the various aspects of learning at the transitional level, that prepares students for Junior High School and High School.

"It was one of the most interesting days of the class, thus far!" exclaimed one of the class participants. "Mr. Lamb was a very gracious host and took the time from his busy schedule to visit and explain his plans for the local system, and the goals that he has for the children of SSISD."

Class members ended their day back at the Middle School, where they worked on their class project, with discussions and plans for fundraising.
