This year's Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Sulphur Springs Class had a busy day, on Wednesday, as they learned about a number of community service groups in Hopkins County. This month's class began with attendance at Tuesday night's City Council Meeting, where they learned about the way that our city is governed and the format of an actual monthly meeting.

Then, on Wednesday morning, they met and traveled back to City Hall, where City Manager, Marc Maxwell, answered a number of questions regarding the Cit Council meeting, the council form of government, and city services offered.

The group then loaded a bus for a trip to first the City Sewer Plant and then on to the Water Treatment Plant, where city workers explained the process of accepting and treating both sewage and water, for the city of Sulphur Springs.

The class then enjoyed lunch at the Southwest Dairy Museum.

The afternoon session included a trip to Echo Publishing Company, a trip to the Sulphur Springs Fire Station, and a trip to the Sulphur Springs Public Library, where they learned about other city services.

Wednesday's session ended with a discussion of the class' project, and raising funds for the installation that they are planning.
