Thursday morning marked the "kick-off" for this year's Lights of Life Campaign, with a reception in the lobby of the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Jackie Thornton, Director of the Hospital Foundation, and Patsy Johnson, Chairman of the Hospital Foundation Board, brought greetings and told those gathered of a number of important dates to remember. They announced that the Lights of Life Christmas Tree Lighting will be featured on December 4, 2012, at 6:00 p.m., and the Lights of Life Gala is scheduled for January 26, 2013, in the Hopkins County Civic Center.
Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Director, Michael McAndrews, brought brief remarks and thanked the Hospital Foundation and contributors for their contributions to local health care.

2013 Gala Chairs, Arvis and Sheila Tanton were then introduced and they gave an update on all of the plans for this year's Gala, that will feature a "Vintage Hollywood" theme, completed with the "red carpet" entry to the event. They recognized $10,000.00 underwriters to this year's campaign, as well as the $5,000.00 or more donors, in a brief ceremony.

Those in attendance enjoyed a wonderful reception and time to reflect on the over $950,000.00 that the Memorial Hospital Foundation has raised for improvement in our local healthcare system, in Hopkins County.
Johnson and Thornton accept $10,000.00 underwriting sponsorships from Copy Products, Advanced
Heart Care, Carriage House Manor, GSC Enterprises, and Rock Creek Health & Rehab.

The 2013 Lights of Life Calendar was "unveiled" and is now ready for purchase, at a number of locations, as well as from members of the calendar committee. Be sure and make your purchase for a beautiful calendar, reflecting photos of various events in Hopkins County. Who knows, your picture is probably in it?
