Como-Pickton FFA member, Justin Asbill, showed his Aged Jersey Cow to Grand Champion honors, last week, at the San Antonio Livestock Exposition Dairy Show. By winning Grand Champion, Asbill was awarded a $6,000.00 scholarship to use in his pursuit of a college agricultural degree. Asbill is a member of the Como-Pickton FFA Chapter and is a veteran of the show ring, having shown livestock for several years. He is currently undecided as to where he will be attending college classes.
The Como-Pickton FFA advisors are Michael and Amy Bowen, who accompanied a large group of students from Como-Pickton to the San Antonio event. The Como-Pickton FFA also entered a Dairy Judging Team in the San Antonio contest and the team placed 16th out of approximately 100 teams entered.

Como-Pickton FFA members, Lance Tate and Lisa Lagaschaar, center, are show with their Senior
Brown Swiss Heifers, at the San Antonio Livestock Show, last week.
