"Back To School"

Reflects the Fashion Trends of Students of All Ages.

These shoppers from the Como and Pickton area of Hopkins County, found some "extra baggage" in
their trunk, upon arrival at home. Left to right, Lexi Schepp, Kellan Bain, and Saxe Daugherty, display
their bags from the "shopping spree!"

With temperatures in the "triple digits" at the beginning of school. Saxe chose this cotton top for its sleek
design and cooling comfort, that can be worn almost anywhere.

The books may be "tough" when the autumn winds bring cooler temperatures, but most young men
starting to school in August, prefer the coolness of cotton, and short-sleeve shirts. Jonathan Heer,
a senior at Cumby High School, likes stone-washed jeans for comfort to begin the new year, as well.

'Readin', 'writin', and 'rithmetic, and maybe a little bit of Edgar Allen Poe and Nathaniel Hawthorne's "Scarlet Letter" for starters?

Saxe Daugherty, an eighth-grader at Como-Pickton, chose the versatility of cotton and denim. It's
cool and comfortable to begin the school year, and a denim jacket can be added when those
nights at the football game become pleasantly temperate.

Starla Burchfield, a Yantis High School Senior, makes a fashion
statement with an Abercrombie Fitch shirt, that goes well with jeans
and bears the "moose" logo.

Don't Know Much About History?
No problem, the books can tell you all
about fashion history!

Denim is a "year-round" favorite among teens on-the-go. It is versatile and can be "dressed-up" or
"dressed-down" according to the occasion. "And, parents like it too," expressed left to right, Lexi,
Kellan, and Saxe. "It's durable and lasts a long time!"

The coolness of cotton and frayed jeans were the choice
of Jordan Davis, a sophomore at Yantis High School. He
remains "humble" by stating he's "almost handsome!"

Jonathan chose to exhibit his school color or "Trojan Maroon" when he selected this cotton shirt, that wears
well with jeans for school or a weekend trip to the movies.

For when those football games get really cold, Skye Brumley has chosen a red wool scarf that is
big enough to wrap around the shoulders for warmth. She also found it quite handy to "lasso"
Kellan "into line" when he wasn't looking!

Both Saxe and Lexi know how unpredictable the weather can be in East Texas, during the late autumn. They've
chosen clothes that fit into almost any temperature and can be layered or dressed-up with a colorful scarf, that
is so popular today, with teens.

Jonathan Heer sports a "mowhawk" style haircut that he had hopes of
wearing to school, as a fashion statement. "It is just something a little bit
different, to make a statement for my senior year," he expressed.

Win, lose, or draw.........Jordan and Starla chose these cool colors as they anticipate
the upcoming Owl's games, both in Yantis and out-of-town.
