"Women of Influence" to be Theme of
2012 Fall Festival Quilt Show
by: Bobby McDonald
It's time to begin thinking about Fall Festival, which is just a little bit over a month away. And, the Lone Star Quilters Organization is doing just that. A call from Deanna Hastens, this week, confirmed that the 2012 Annual Show will be conducted, as usual, in the Sulphur Springs High School Gym. This year's theme is "Women of Influence" and will be featured throughout the displays of beautifully handcrafted quilts.

This year's show will be featured from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on Friday, September 14th, and from 9:00 a.m. 'til 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 15th. This year's awards presentation is planned for 2:15 p.m., on Saturday, September 15th.
You may call Deanna Hastens at (903)994-2570, for additional information.
Over 110 quilts have already been entered in this year's show.
"We're planning to honor, Kathryn Bates, who wrote America the Beautiful, Amelia Earhart, and Mary, the Mother of Jesus, as just a few of the 'Women of Influence,' to be featured in this year's show," advised Hastens. "And, many of our quilters have chosen to honor their mother, grandmother, or some other important family member who actually taught them to quilt! It will be a special show, this year!"

Mark you calendars and make plan to enjoy this year's beautiful Lone Star Quilt Show, as they honor the "women of influence."
