League Street Church of Christ
Clothing Room Serves Community
And Makes Plea for Gently Used Clothing
by: Bobby McDonald
It's a "labor of love" and vital service to the Hopkins County Community. It's the League Street Church of Christ Clothing Room, located at 1100 S. League Street, on the back of the church building. The clothing distribution ministry is a weekly service to those people in need of clothing in Hopkins County. The community outreach depends on the donations from all of us to keep their supply of gently used clothing for the needy, updated and serviceable.
"This time of the year we especially need children's clothes," expressed those volunteers working in the outreach. "With school starting, we've about exhausted our sizes in some of the children's areas, so if anyone has some gently used clothing for children, we could use them, to increase our supply!"

The clothing outreach, that has operated for years, in Sulphur Springs, by some 30 volunteers of the League Street Church, services approximately 60 families or 200 people each week, from their location. "People know that we have clothes to meet their needs and depend on us to cloth their children for school," advised the volunteers. "And, it's a joy to help these people who need help and assistance in meeting their family needs!"
Additional clothing is distributed to the Medina Children's Home, when stocks are available.
The Clothing Room at League Street Church of Christ is open on Tuesday's from 9:30 a.m., until 11:00 a.m.

"We accept donations at any time," expressed the volunteers. "We have a covered area, at the south-west corner of the building, where the clothing can be 'dropped-off,' out of the weather, and we will get them and add them to our supply!"
"We want to thank everyone for their continued support in this ministry!" expressed the League Street volunteers.
