to Handicapable Rodeo
by: Bobby McDonald
Members of the Hopkins County Rodeo Committee were pleased to accept a check for $2000.00 from Troy Keller, representing Luminant Energy's support of the Handcapable Rodeo, scheduled for Friday, November 18th. "It's our way of lending support for a great need in this community," expressed Keller, as he made the presentation. "We see this need and want to do our part in making it a fun-filled day for these children, on behalf of the staff, employees and customers of Luminant!"
Accepting the check and representing the Hopkins County Rodeo Committee were: Pansy Bell, with the Hopkins County Civic Center; Pat Johnson, Secretary of the Rodeo Committee; Gail Newsome, with the Rodeo Committee; Jennifer Anders, Treasurer of the Rodeo Committee; and Will Kennington, also a member of the Rodeo Committee.
"We'll use the money from Luminant to purchase t-shirts for each of the participants," advised Jennifer Anders, Treasurer. "This will allow us to present each of the participants with a t-shirt to remember the great day of fun and activity!"

"Our reward is to see the smiles on the faces of these youth, when they come out and ride a horse, participate in activities, and maybe even ride a mechanical bull!" related both Keller and Anders.
"This is one of the highlights of serving on the Rodeo Committee, for me," expressed Secretary, Pat Johnson. "These youth who face so many challenges in life, truly enjoy their day, as they go about doing the many, many things the rest of us take for granted!"
Mark your calendars for a "day of inspiration," on November 18th, advised the Rodeo Committee, when these youth come and participate in the sport of rodeo, compliments of Luminant Energy and our other great sponsors!
