Six performances of the Main Street Theater production of "Tuesday's With Morrie," opens on Main Street tonight, Thursday, January 19, 2012, at 7:00 p.m. You can obtain your tickets and reservations by calling (903)885-0107.

The play is based on the 1997 non-fiction book by Mitch Albom, that reflects on a number of visits by Albom, a newspaper reporter, with his former sociology professor, who is facing the end of his life. The heart-rendering play accounts the visits by Albom and the lessons he learns from his professor, who taught him some 16 years earlier in the classroom at Brandeis University.

The local production features veteran stage actors, Stan Shipp as Mitch Albom, and Rick Moser as Morrie Schwartz, the professor. The production is directed by Sherrie Shadix and Betty Green, with David Woody serving as the stage manager, and Heather Fitch director of light and sound.

The cast performed the production on Saturday night for a special Patron's Show, and will feature the production tonight, Friday night, and Saturday night, and again on Thursday, January 26th - Saturday, January 28th.

Other Main Street Theater Productions announced for the 2012 Season include: "Hello Dolly" - March; "The Sunshine Boys," - May; "The Creative Spirit Production Workshop," - May;
"Play It Again Sam," - September and October; and "WKRL" - the Christmas Production, in December.
