Although it was a "bit soggy" with some rain and cooler temperatures, on Saturday, Jefferson, Texas, "rolled out the red carpet" for the 23rd Annual Mardi Gras Upriver Celebration, as they hosted fun, entertainment, parades, and a host of other activities. Cajun cooking was featured in a number of local restaurants, as well as thousands of beads were thrown from the floats in the grand parade on Saturday afternoon. "It's a great time for everyone, here in Jefferson, and hopefully we bring joy and delight to the crowds that just seem to keep growing each year," added one of the event organizers. "Even though I wish the rain would 'let up' for the parade, as dry as we've been, this past year, none of us can complain, and it doesn't look like it's thwarted the crowd any, as the streets are full of revelers!"
