It's Mardi Gras time in South Louisiana and the perfect time for you to celebrate in your own home, if you can't make the trip to New Orleans. Try this tasty recipe:

Drunken Sausage & Shrimp

1 1/2 cups of your favorite "spicy" BBQ Sauce
1 (14 oz.) bottle of Ketchup
1/2 cup of Brown Sugar
1/2 cup of Southern Comfort
1 pound Andouille Sausage, sliced in to 1/2 inch pieces
1 pound cooked, peeled, and de-veined shrimp

Pour the BBQ sauce and ketchup in a crockpot, and
stir in the brown sugar, Southern Comfort, and sausage.
Cook on the "Low" setting of the crockpot, for
5 hours. Remove lid and add your shrimp, cooking
an additional hour, stirring to mix well.

Serve hot with rice or red-beans and rice and
you have the perfect way to celebrate Mardi Gras.

Pairs great with Crump Valley Vineyard's "Neon!"
