On July 27, 2012, Mark Carrasco, a high school senior this upcoming year at Yantis High School, signed an 8 year contract with the Army National Guard Of The United States. He will leave July 2, 2013 a month after he graduates, for Fort Benning, Georgia, for his PT training for 9 weeks, then finish out in Waco for his job as a19D Cavalry Scout. Carrasco, a three-year letterman for the Yantis Owl Basketball Team, is looking forward to his senior year, and all the many activities, including starting as a guard for the Yantis Owls.

Carrasco is active in a number of Yantis High School activities and has just returned home, after attending a leadership camp in Washington D.C.

"Naturally, I'm a little bit apprehensive!" exclaimed his mother, Tammy Ayala. "But we support Mark in his decision and are so proud of him choosing to serve our country!"

Best of luck to Mark and we know he will make his family, community, and country proud!

Thank You, Mark,
For Serving Our Country!
