Morgan Lampp and Chase Taylor Tops in
Market Swine Show, Friday Night

It was sixty-one market swine entries that were paraded before Judge Jack Dillard, a Vocational Agriculture Teacher at Waskom I.S.D., as the 2010 Youth Market Swine Show got underway in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Arena. And, it was Sulphur Springs High School senior, Morgan Lampp, who showed her 275 pound heavy-weight, crossbred pig to the top of the show, as she won Grand Champion honors. Then, Dillard named Miller Grove FFA member, Chase Taylor's entry to the Reserve Champion spot, during the championship drive. Taylor's class 5 entry weighed 235 pounds, and was a crossbred animal, also.
"What a great way to end my showing career at the Market Show!" exclaimed a happy and smiling Morgan Lampp. "I've shown since I was old enough to enter and this is the first time I've ever won Grand Champion! It's great!"
Taylor had similar sentiments as he drove his pig from the ring, "grinning from ear to ear!" "It's great to be at the top of a show with quality that ran so deep in the classes," expressed Taylor. "And, it was 'icing on the cake' to win the Senior Showmanship honors tonight, too!"
"You folks had a great, great pig show, that was really difficult to place at times," expressed Judge Jack Dillard. "There were some awesome pigs that made the placings difficult to make, and that always shows what a great group of feeders and fitters, your youth are back a home!"
Following the Championship Drive, Dillard named the sale order for Saturday night's Sale of Champions, in the swine show.
