"One Life,
One Love,
One Way!"

In what proved to be a very successful venue of the Hopkins County Fall Festival Week, Christian Recording Artist, Mark Shultz, brought a large crowd of approximately 1000 people to the Hopkins County Civic Center Auditorium, Wednesday night. The top Christian artist, of Nashville, Tennessee, and winner of the Christian Music Dove Awards, in numerous categories, "wowed" the crowd with his new hit single "Broken and Beautiful," as well as a number of his other hits.

A full crowd.......seats were filling quickly in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Auditorium,
on Wednesday night, at patron made their way to the Mark Shultz Christian Concert.

Inspirational moments were featured throughout the evening, as patrons from as far away as Mt. Pleasant, Roxton, Greenville, and Lindale attended the concert. "We were pleasantly surprised with the number of people who attended the concert," exclaimed Dottie Ford, of the Civic Center. "We had numerous people who bought tickets 'at the door' and many churches used the occasion to bring their entire youth group to the concert."

The crowd at Wednesday night's Christian concert were "on their feet" throughout the program,
during special numbers, as they sang along and lifted praise.

A very poignant moment was realized when Shultz related the story behind his hit single, "He's Walking Her Home." The song was written by Shultz in honor of an elderly couple, Henry and Liz, who lived next door to him in Nashville, Tennessee, and took him "under their wing," when he moved there. "They were the type neighbors that cooked meals for a lonesome country boy from Kansas, and had steak dinners for me, when I would be eating baloney sandwiches at home," explained Shultz. "Well, the song is about their love for each other and Henry promising Liz's father that he'd walk her all the way home, when they had their first date. I went to visit Henry and Liz, in the nursing home, when Liz was dying, and Henry was there to walk her all the way home, some sixty years after their first date. That made the third verse for the song, and a tribute to the love of Henry and Liz!"

The Tom and Suzy Rost Family introduced Mark Shultz, as they were responsible for
bringing the venue to Hopkins County.

Several times during the concert, youth in the audience presented a "laser light" show, as the house lights were dimmed and the lights were shown to the tune of the music.

Groups continued to arrive for the concert and all ages enjoyed the music, as Shultz presented a quality show.

Patrons created their own "lazer light" show during several numbers, when the house lights
were dimmed, on Wednesday night.

"This is proof that you can attract a large crowd for Christian Music in the Northeast Texas area," exclaimed Suzy Rost, as she commented on the program, she and her husband sponsored. "We want to thank all of the local businesses and individuals who helped us bring Mark Shultz and this great program to Hopkins County, on Wednesday night! We're ecstatic with the response and hope it encourages other such entertainment for the area!"

Shultz performed other hits such as "When The Mountains Fall," "We Are Calling You," and "Back In His Arms Again," as he delivered a full show of non-stop music and entertainment.

Shultz encouraged audience participation during a number of his songs, that served as an
inspirational evening in Sulphur Springs.
