Meal A Day Program Receives "WHO" Grant
of $10,000.00, Friday Afternoon

Karon Weatherman is presented the award by Beauticontrol Representative, Patricia Fisher.
The Local Meal A Day Program received a $10,000.00 grant award from Beauticontrol, after local representative, Patricia Fisher, nominated the program for the W.H.O. (Women Helping Others) organization award. "We just can't thank Patricia, Beauticontrol, and the WHO organization enough!" exclaimed Karon Weatherman, coordinator for the local Meal A Day Program. "Like any other organization that depends on donations and help from the community, our organization is always short on funds, when the economy suffers, so this is a 'life saver' for the local program!"

Fisher presented the $10,000.00 check to the local organization, on Friday afternoon, at 5:30 p.m., and then treated members of the Meal A Day staff to facials and spa treatment. "This is great!" exclaimed one of the local Meal A Day volunteers. "Spa treatments always make you feel special!"

"And, feeling special is what it is all about," expressed Fisher, in making her presentation. "We know how hard these volunteers work and it's great for me and my company to let them know how much they are appreciated for constantly volunteering their services to others. Like all of the rest of us, these volunteers have mornings that they don't want to get up, don't particularly feel good, and would like to stay home, but they come to the Senior Citizens Center and volunteer their time and talent in helping others, putting others' needs before their own. So, this is our opportunity to 'treat' them!"

And, word on the street is that "Ol' Mike Turner really enjoyed his facial and pedicure, on Friday
afternoon!"
Congratulations to the
Meal A Day Volunteers!!!
