Miller and Potts Top 2012 Grads
at Miller Grove High School

In an announcement from Miller Grove High School, Holly Miller has been named Valedictorian of the 2012 graduating class, while Wesley Kyle Potts earned the Salutatorian position.

Holly Miller, Class Valedictorian, is the daughter of A.J. and Heather Miller. Her siblings are Ashley, Logan, and Teagan Miller. She has attended Miller Grove School since the second grade and has been active in sports throughout junior high and high school. She has played varsity basketball and softball. She has also participated in track and cross country. For two years she has been active in the drama department, performing in the UIL One Act Play and various drama projects. During her senior year she received the honor of being voted Homecoming Queen, as well as several other student-voted awards.

Holly has competed in UIL during high school and this year advanced to the Regional competition in accounting, which was held in Nacogdoches. She joined the re-established MGHS National Honor Society and held the office of president. Holly has been active in showing livestock in the Miller Grove FFA Chapter, where she has served as a chapter FFA officer. While in high school, Holly has taken a number of college classes, to prepare her for her future career.

 

Class Salutatorian, Wesley Potts is the son of Krista Roberson and Bryan Potts. His grandparents are Jim and Melinda Moon and Russell Potts. His sister is Natalie Potts. Wesley has been active in sports during high school, being the manager of the varsity basketball team for the past four years. He has also participated in Academic UIL and the One Act Play, during his senior year. Wesley has attended Miller Grove School since kindergarten.

Wesley regularly attends County Line Baptist Church in Miller Grove, as well as Family Life Church in Sulphur Springs. He served this year as the treasurer of the MG National Honor Society and advanced to Regional UIL in accounting. He has also served as a class officer throughout high school and has taken a number of dual-credit college hours, while in high school.

The Miller Grove Class of 2012 will graduate on Friday, June 1, 2012, in a 7:00 p.m. ceremony, in the school gymnasium. Baccalaureate services will be conducted on Sunday, May 27, 2012, at Miller Grove United Methodist Church.
