Family and friend's worst fears were realized, on Wednesday afternoon, approximately 22 hours after they had reported, forty-four year old Jenny Jenkins missing from the family home. Local law enforcement were alerted to the young woman's disappearance, on Tuesday, sometime shortly after 3:30 p.m., forcing an extensive search along Hopkins County Roads 1103 and 1104. But, in a statement from Justice of the Peace Ronny Glossup, he was called to the scene of a shallow farm pond, on the family property, at approximately 1:40 p.m., when investigators had located the body of the woman submerged beneath the water's surface.

Glossup pronounced the woman "dead at the scene" from what was apparently a self-inflicted gunshot wound, once the DPS Dive Team had removed the body.

Glossup ordered an autopsy of the victim, which is customary with an investigation.
