The investigation into the case of the missing woman from Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County, continues on the Red River, according to a telephone interview with chief investigator, David Gilmore. He indicated that a search was conducted on Friday, July 29th, at a location along the Red River, that remains a "point-of-interest" in the case. Gilmore stated that he had been at the location, all day Friday, working on the case.

"We continue to work the case diligently, in an effort to find Melissa McVay Darling, who was last seen in Hopkins County, on June 9th," expressed Detective Gilmore. "Darling was seen on a surveilliance video, at the Choctaw Casino, but has not been located since her departure from Hopkins County, on June 9th."

Melissa McVay Darling was last seen at the Choctaw Casino
on a survelliance tape, as she left the casino.

Melissa McVay Darling, the mother of two small children, was reported missing by her mother, after she failed to return to pick-up her daughters, at the scheduled time. The case has drawn local attention and continues with the search for the missing woman, whose vehicle was found near a lake in Oklahoma, with two flat tires.

"We have a number of clues in the case," advised Gilmore. "And, continue to work the case, but cannot release all of the details, for fear of jeopardizing the case, at this time!"

"Just let everyone know that we are still searching and working on the case, and hope to find the young mother, just as quickly as we can!" expressed Gilmore. "These investigations, that involve numerous departments, take time and must be worked with care, to protect evidence and make certain that we understand what has happened in the case!"

Officers are searching the Red River, that is low at the present time because of drought, in hopes of finding clues to
the disappearance of Melissa McVay Darling.
