Overnight Murder Reported
in Neighboring Commerce

An altercation outside the Tarter Apartments in neighboring Commerce, on Tuesday night near midnight, resulted in a twenty year old man being transported to Hunt County Regional Medical Center, with a stab wound to his chest. He later was reported to have died at the hospital from his injuries.

The man was later identified as Jamal Staton of Greenville, Texas. A person of interest was being detained by the Commerce Police Department in the incident.
