A beautiful evening of great weather and soothing music provided for the perfect evening in Sulphur Springs, on Thursday afternoon, as friends and patrons of The Gardens at Memorial gathered to pay tribute to the third annual "Music in the Gardens" event. Sponsored by the Hopkins County Memorial Hospital Foundation, the pleasant evening was designed to recognize those who have made a contribution to the beautiful gardens and to "stop and smell the roses!" "We wanted this to be a wonderful evening, here in the gardens, for everyone to 'slow down' from their hectic schedules, and enjoy an evening of music and reflection," expressed Jackie Thornton, Director of the Hospital Foundation. "And, the music has been great and the weather has cooperated wonderfully!"

Thornton recognized three major contributors for the gardens, this year:

Polly Swatsell, who donated the beautiful gazebo, in memory of her husband, Hollie Swatsell,

Gloria Conley Mitchell, who donated beautiful park benches, in memory of her parents, Joe and Odell Conely,

And, Memorials give in memory of Carolyn Lucas, for the rose garden around the gazebo, by friends and co-workers.

Providing music for the evening was Ms. Betty Caudle, Ms. Hopkins County, who played a number of superior selections. Sound was provided by Gary Spraggins.

"We just want to thank everyone who had helped to make this a focal point of our health care complex, and a special place that families and workers at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital, can use to reflect and enjoy," expressed Thornton. "I think all of you would agree that it is a beautiful and spectacular place!"
