Fall Festival Mutton Bustin' Contest
Names Winners, Saturday

It was a game of "hold on tight" for the little cowboys and cowgirls at Saturday's Fall Festival Mutton Bustin' Contest, held in the arena of the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center. The "finals" performance was hosted at 4:00 p.m., following preliminary rounds on Saturday morning. The event attracted a number of young cowboys and cowgirls, hoping to win the top prizes.

As the youth "grabbed a handful of wool" and tried to hang-on for the longest time, the challenge proved quite difficult for some. However, others managed to "stay with" the sheep and make a qualified ride.

Local Hopkins County Realtor and Sheriffs' Posse Captain, Bill Allen, served as the official judge of the contest, giving each rider a score.

Saturday's Mutton Bustin' Contest was won by  Rylan Nunley, right, and second place was won by
Caden Anglin, left, who will be competing in the finals, to be held at a later date in Mt. Pleasant.
