Named Officer of the Year

"It's great to have the best working for you, and even more special when other people notice the talent of my officers!" exclaimed Sulphur Springs Police Chief Jim Bayuk, as he was recounting the naming of Sulphur Springs Narcotics Officer, Harold McClure, as Officer of the Year.

"McClure was cited for the award as the Officer of the Year, for his outstanding work in the North Texas Region of the state," explained Bayuk. "Harold who has been working with this department for the past 26 years, in the narcotics division, has just about seen it all! He's investigated and arrested almost any kind of narcotics related offenses that you could imagine and continually must stay abreast of all the new changes on the street!"

"Certainly, he's a good officer and tends to business!" expressed Bayuk. "But, one of his most outstanding qualities is that he's a 'family man' and wants to keep the streets of Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County safe, because he has his own children at stake. He brings that personal level of security to our department and lives it every day as he goes about his duties!"

There are five regions in the state and McClure was presented the award at the Texas State Narcotics Officer's Association Convention, in Austin, where he was one of five officers selected for the coveted award, from across the state. McClure was presented with an award and a commemorative pistol, by the association.

Congratulations to Harold McClure and the entire Sulphur Springs Police Department!
