To Be Celebrated Saturday

"Pass the biscuits, Pappy!" and other sayin's will abound on Saturday morning, beginning at 7:00 a.m., beneath the shade trees at the Hopkins County Civic Center, as local citizens gather to celebrate the National Day of the Cowboy. The morning will begin with a real cowboy breakfast, provided by the Johnny Chester-Hopkins County Dutch Oven Cooking Society, that will provide those "mouth-watering" delicacies from the classic Dutch ovens, for only $5.00 per person.

The day will continue with live entertainment from Cowboy Poets, Country and Western Bands and Singers, and a number of other Western activities.

Meanwhile, the Stock Horse of Texas (SHOT) will be hosting clinics and competitions in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, on both Friday, July 16th and Saturday, July 17th, where you can see some of the best riding demonstrations and can learn about training techniques, equine diseases, and the care and performance of your horse.

Make plans to celebrate the rich, rich cowboy heritage that we have here in Hopkins County and the State of Texas, with the activities planned this weekend.
