Nehemiah Meets and Discusses
Future Plans, Thursday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
A group of interested citizens and invited guests gathered at The ROC, on Thursday night, in support of the local Nehemiah Foundation. Success of the program were discussed with the foundation just completing its second home at 219 W. Ross Street, to join the already completed home at 722 N. Davis Street. Those gathered were told that building costs have prevented the current building of more homes, but plans are in the works to begin construction once the market is more steady.
Board member, Valanderous Bell, discussed the future and the past successes of the foundation and ask for the continued support of the community in helping low to moderate income families receive adequate and affordable housing. "We're striving for pride of ownership and pride in construction of these homes!" expressed Bell.

"And, of course, if someone comes along with more money, we'll be certain to start building immediately," expressed Bell. "But, we feel the necessity to be prudent with our funds and make them work for the benefit of the most people!"
Thursday night's meeting was attended by a number of people who feel the necessity to continue the program and help to make dreams a reality for this community.
Members of the board include: Bell, Adam Teer, Joe Crouch, Debra Nixon, Steve Carmody, Harold Nash, Ronnie Bell, Ann Gregg, Don O'Neal, and Mark Bryant. If you would like to offer help or more information you can contact the Nehemiah Foundation at (9093)885-5956.
Pastor Mark Bryant ended Thursday night's session with brief remarks and a prayer.
