NETLA Board Meets and Firms Plans
For February Show

The Northeast Texas Livestock Association Board met on Monday night to firm plans for the upcoming 2013 Market Show, in the Sulphur Springs Vocational Agriculture Building. The group enjoyed a meal of chili and all the trimmings, provided by Amber Norris, and discussed the various business items regarding the show.
Committees reported on each of the species of animals being shown and announced the judges for the various competitions, including steers, beef heifers, swine, sheep and goats, and poultry.
The following show schedule was released:
Thursday, February 21st, 5:00 p.m. - Market Sheep and Goat Show
Friday, February 22nd - 9:00 a.m. Poultry Show
1:00 p.m. Swine Show
3:00 p.m. Beef Heifer Show
6:00 p.m. Steer Show
Saturday, February 23rd, 1:30 p.m. Awards Presentation, followed by Sale of Champions
It was also announced that there will be a Parent Meeting at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Arena, on Sunday, January 6, 2013, for parents of all students showing in the show.
Raffle tickets were distributed at Monday night's meeting and can be obtained from your FFA Advisor or at the Hopkins County Extension Office.
Monday, January 7, 2013 will the distribution of chicks for those showing poultry projects, and they will arrive at the Sulphur Springs Vocational Agriculture Building that morning, from Pilgrim's Pride, in Pittsburg.
It was also announced that NETLA Scholarship Applications are available on the NETLA website www.netla.tk and are due on February 1, 2013. This year's scholarships will be presented during the Awards Presentation of the NETLA Show, preceding the Sale of Champions.
The 2013 Show is fast approaching so take note of these dates to be ready for the show and sale.
