New Mexico
Land of Enchantment
by: Bobby McDonald

Everyone deserves a break from the routine, and I was fortunate enough to travel to New Mexico, over the weekend, for a "story research mission." Certainly, it was a different country from our native East Texas. Enjoy the following scenes from that trip and "count your blessings" for trees, cool clear springs, and green grass everywhere. Both the Panhandle of Texas and Eastern New Mexico have received very little rainfall (even below their natural allotted amount). One farmer told me that in the past two years they had not received more than 3/4 of an inch of rain at any one time!

The following scenes are in Eastern New Mexico, near Portales, Elida, and Kenna and represent a vast difference in both culture and topography, from our own, here at home.

Enjoy these New Mexico scenes!
