Michael Lamb, the current Executive Director of Secondary Education for the Forney ISD, was selected on Monday night, as the finalist for the SSISD Superintendent Position, vacated earlier in the year by retiring Patsy Bolton. The SSISD Board met in executive session, on Monday night, in the Administration Board Room and voted unanimously to offer the position to Lamb, who comes with a long history of credentials in public education, in an announcement by SSISD Board President Jason Dietze.

"We're excited about this announcement and look forward to a great, great relationship with Michael," expressed Dietze. "His name and credentials just kept rising to the top as we discussed the many applicants that applied for the job, and we feel that we've selected the best man for the job!"

Lamb, who is married to a Sulphur Springs native, Nikole Stewart Lamb, who graduated from SSHS in 1993, is very familiar with the SSISD and this area.

He is a 1992 graduate of Wills Point High School and began his teaching career in 1996, as a mathematics teacher in the Wills Point ISD. He moved from Wills Point to Lindale High School as a secondary math teacher and served as Junior High Principal there. In 2005, he moved to McKinney North High School where he was the Assistant High School Principal and then served as the Principal of Huntsville High School in Huntsville, Texas, from 2006-2008. It was in the fall of 2008 that he was selected as the Executive Director of Secondary Education at Forney ISD, where he is currently employed.

A mandatory 21 day waiting period is required for hiring a superintendent, and that period will begin on April 2nd, and conclude on Monday, April 23rd.

"Michael is excited and ready to begin his duties," expressed Dietze, in making the announcement. "We've invited him to the next board meeting, and plan on him being here with us for that event."

"We're extremely excited about the move back 'home' expressed," Michael and Nikole in a telephone interview, on Monday night. "It will be nice to be back among family and friends and offer our services to the Sulphur Springs ISD."

Nikole Stewart Lamb is currently employed with Forney ISD and is the daughter of Sharron Payne Sink and John Stewart.

Congratulations, Michael & Nikole!!!
