North Hopkins School has announce their top 2012 gratuates. Haley Flanagan is the high school valedictorian with a grade point average of 5.054, and has been accepted into TAMU-C's Honors College, a full scholarship of $55,000. Haley is the daughter of James and Alicia Flanagan. She is a member of Beta, UIL competitor, athlete and a member of the High School Leadership Class. Haley doesn't let a sporting event pass her by as a member of the volleyball, cross-country, basketball, softball and track teams. Some of her sports honors include Honorable Mention All-District basketball, First Team All-District softball, Defensive Player of the Year and Academic All-State basketball 2012. In UIL some of her honors have been regional Lincoln-Douglas debate and regional persuasive speaking for two years. Haley really enjoys school and credits teachers Donna Brown, Rob Stanley and Paulan Cowling for their support and influence. Her plans for the future include pursuing a career in teaching and coaching.

Amanda Bisenius is the high school salutatorian with a 4.827 grade point average, and has awarded a TAMU-C Regent's Scholarship of $40,000. Amanda is the daughter of Scott Bisenius and LaWanda Faulks. She is a member of Beta, UIL competitor, athlete and a member of the High School Leadership Class. Amanda plays volleyball and basketball and has received Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-State in basketball. She is an accomplished artist in several two-dimensional medias and photography. Amanda is a member of FCA at school and a member of Peerless Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at church and the community. She credits teacher Paulan Cowling and coach Larry Tucker for their guidance and support. Her plans for the future include pursuing a career in graphic design and owning her own design company.

 

 

 

 

Top 8th Graders

 

Allegra Thomas is the eighth-grade valedictorian with a grade point average of 99.058. Allegra is the daughter of Woodrow and Janis Thomas. She is a multi-dimensional UIL competitor, athlete and member of Junior Beta. A few of the UIL events that she has excelled in are spelling, maps, charts and graphs, ready writing, number sense and art. An all-round athlete she competes in volleybal, basketball, cross-country and track. In her free-time Allegra likes to be at home with her family and enjoys reading and writing.

Morgan Joslin is the eighth-grade salutatorian with a 97.0556 grade point average. Morgan is the son of Malcom and Tiffany Joslin and grandson of Chip and Jan Vaughn. Morgan is a member of Junior Beta, UIL competitor and cross-country, track athlete. A few of the UIL events he competes in are social studies, maps, charts and graphs and he participated in the quiz bowl at the State Junior Beta Convention. Morgan tries to follow a "don't procrastinate," motto and has a passion for flight. In his free time Morgan is a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association the CAP Color Gaurd and enjoys building experimental planes while taking flying lessons working to receive his pilot's license.
