BIRTHRIGHT — The North Hopkins Lady Panthers opened District 16A with a 33-29 win over Simms Bowie. Chelsea Crouch led the Lady Panthers with 12 points and seven rebounds. Freshman Allegra Thomas provided a spark coming off the bench for seven points and 10 rebounds.


"We stayed with the game plan and our defense proved to be the difference," Coach Larry Tucker said. "All the girls did such a great job. It was a great team effort."
Adding to the Lady Panthers effort was Melony Huffman with five points, Alexus Garcia three, and Macy Griner, Baile Gamille, and Kelsey Buchanan each with two. Griner also had seven rebounds in the effort.
The Lady Panthers will host Yantis in a non-district homecoming match Friday beginning at 6 p.m. and resume district play at Honey Grove Tuesday, Dec. 18.

WOLFE CITY — Jessie Williams scored 11 points for North Hopkins, but the Panthers fell 38-35 to Wolfe City.
Wolfe City outscored NH 11-4 in the final period.
