Mr. Geral Kennedy, longtime educator and Vocational Director at SSHS, was honored
on Monday night, with the newly formed NTHS Chapter being named in his honor.

 

NTHS Induction Ceremony Honors

Vocational teachers at SSHS conducted the candle lighting ceremony for the newly formed NTHS Chapter
at SSHS, on Monday night, to begin the club.

 

The newly formed National Technical Honor Society at Sulphur Springs High School conducted it's initial induction ceremony, on Monday night, in the Sulphur Springs High School Cafeteria, as it inducted forty-one students and honored the club's namesake, Mr. Geral Kennedy. Mr. Geral Kennedy began his career as a Sulphur Springs ISD educator, as a Vocational Agriculture Teacher, and then was named Vocational Director at SSHS, where he served until his retirement. Kennedy, accompanied by his family, was present for Monday night's induction ceremony and presented with a placque for his service to SSHS and to denote the club being named in his honor.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This being the initial induction ceremony, the candlelighting ceremony was conducted by the teachers at SSHS in the vocational curriculum. Teachers participating in the ceremony included: Jenny Arledge, Joel Bailey, Kendra Daniel, Trent Ledkins, Lynn Smith, Tracy Stewart, Nancy Reese, Debbie Stinson, Laura Teer, Dan Froneberger, Dannie Johnson, Amber Norris, Travis Woods, Boby Halter, Brenda McKinzie, Tommy Panter, and Harold Smithson.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Senior SSHS students inducted into the NTHS Society based on their character, grades, and leadership included: Veronica Bailey, Talon Bell, Ryann Cathey, Jarred Cowley, Destiny Fountain, Colten Froneberger, Irais Gonzalez, Sarah Halter, Brenda Hernandez, Chase Koon, Emily Lynn Martin, Justin Mathews, Meagan McCullough, Evangelio Meek, Kaylan Miller, Molly Millsap, Sammie Nguyen, Emily Petty, Caden Price, Dalton Rutherford, and Rowdy Sachs.
