"Oz the Musical" To Open
In Civic Center, Tuesday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
Plainview, Texas, native, Todrick D. Hall, will bring his contemporary musical twist on L. Frank Baum's classical tale "The Wonderful Wizzard Of Oz," to the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center, Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. A second show will be hosted on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., also.
"I'm just so excited about the people, especially the children, of the greater Hopkins County area having the opportunity to see a production of this magnitude!" exclaimed Dottie Ford, with the Hopkins County Civic Center. "It's an unusual opportunity, as Sulphur Springs has a stage large enough and seating capcity for the production, and they were in Dallas over the weekend and are headed to Memphis, Tennessee, for a show on May 29th-31st!"

Hall states that Baum's production was one of his favorites as a child and thus he wanted to produce a show that had his own "twist" to the production. Hall toured the U.S. with Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" and the "Radio Christmas Spectacular," starring the world famous "Rockettes. He also spent a year performing on Broadway in Oprah Winfrey's "The Color Purple."
"This is going to be a show that people won't want to miss," continued Ford. "It's going to be absolutely spectacular!"
Tickets for the show can be obtained by calling the Civic Center at (903)885-8071.

"Follow the Yellow Brick Road
