NETLA President, Kevin Gibson, goes over rules on Sunday afternoon with parents and exhibitors, as well
as announces important dates.

A large crowd of local 4-H and FFA members and their parents were in attendance at Sunday afternoon's NETLA hosted Parent & Exhibitor Meeting, in the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Arena. The meeting is designed to be an informative meeting for both parents and exhibitors who are entered in the NETLA Market Show, scheduled this year for February 21-23, 2013.

Kevin Gibson, President of the NETLA organization, addressed the crowd and introduced the superintendents of each of the species, to answer questions and make announcements to any rule changes and condtions affecting this year's show. He also went over general rules and addressed that each exhibitor is responsible for selling 25 raffle tickets, that will be for sides of beef. "The money that you raise by selling raffle tickets goes into the show to purchase animals and to be used as add-on money for the sale," expressed Giblson. "It's a great way for you to get out and work hard to make certain that the sale is successful, as 100% of the money is added to the sale!"

These youth are planning on showing for the first time in this year's NETLA Show.

Gibson encouraged exhibitors to sell tickets to their family members, friends, and other supporters in the community.

Gibson called on Mr. Johnny Lennon, Superientendet of the Market Poultry Show, who informed everyone that the baby chicks will arrive on Monday, January 7th, at the Sulphur Springs Vocational Agriculture Building, and need to be "picked-up" and taken to the individual exhibitors. "We've got about 75 pens of broilers that have been entered and the baby chicks will be here in the morning!" advised Lennon.

Each of the superintendents advised that they have more entries in each of the categories than in previous years, denoting an increase in participation by local youth.
