Best of Show at PPAWSS Pet Show

How do you choose between cute little puppies, brightly dressed cats, and charming children who love their pets? That was the challenge of the judges at the annual PPAWSS sponsored Fall Festival Pet Show, on Friday, September 14th, on the Hopkins County Civic Center grounds. A large crowd of children brought their pets to have them judged, and hoping to be selected as Best of Show. Well, when the "dust settled," it was a "perky" little dachshund, named Ginger, that "stole the show." She was owned by Becca Wilson, of Sulphur Springs.

 

 

 

 

Other winners in Friday's PPAWSS Pet Show included:

Age 5 & Under Category:

                     1st Place - Bethany Hokett with a mixed breed dog, Teddy, who could sit, shake, and roll over.

 

                     2nd Place - Natalie Perry with her lab, Daisy, who could sit.

                     3rd Place - Caroline Gibson with her Bulldog, Earl, dressed in a SS Wildcat uniform.

 

Ages 6-11:

                     1st Place - Kasey Moore with her Rat Terrier, dressed in a Dallas Cowboys uniform.

 

Judges had a hard time deciding the winners in Friday's Pet Show.

 

                     2nd Place - J.D. Sheffield with his Sheltie, Sadie, who could sit.

                     3rd Place - Cynthia Bryant with her Siberian Huskey, Mya.

 

 

 

 

Ages 12 and Up Category:

 

                     1st Place - Becca Wilson with Ginger, a Dachshund, who could sit, play dead, and roll over.

 

 

                     2nd Place - Boys and Girls Club entry, Chanel, who serves as the Club's mascot.

 

 

                     3rd Place - Shayna with Tiny Baby, a Chihuahua, dressed up as a nursing home therapy dog.

 

 

Cats & Exotics Division:

                     1st Place - Ashly Burkham with her cat, Harley, trained to a leash.

                     2nd Place - Hattie Shultz with her kitten, Hopscotch, dressed in a dress.

 

 

 

                     3rd Place - Bridgett Nabors with her bunny, Christi.

 

Best of Show: Becca Wilson and her Dachshund, Ginger!!!
